Get To Know John Reed

John Reed’s journey began in Gary, Indiana — a city that instilled grit, resilience, and ambition from an early age. Those foundational values would shape both his career in media and his lifelong commitment to service.

Reed attended Western Michigan University as a track scholar-athlete, competing in the 400 meters and long jump. After running competitively for two years, he pivoted toward media — launching and producing The After Party, a radio and television music show he created while still in college. The move marked an early pattern in his career: identifying opportunity, building platforms, and executing with purpose.

Immediately after graduating in 2000, Reed moved to New York City to pursue media at the highest level. Over the next two decades, he evolved into a hands-on Executive Producer, creative strategist, and on-air personality, leading projects across national radio, television, digital networks, and podcast platforms. From celebrity interviews and live productions to studio buildouts and cloud-based content ecosystems, his work bridges storytelling with scalable infrastructure — building both the content and the engine behind it.

In 2003, Reed founded the School Outreach Summit, a leadership initiative designed to empower students through mentorship and community dialogue. The program earned him the Ellis J. Bonner Community Service Award, which he received during a White House dinner honoring community organizers. In 2025, he was further recognized with a Proclamation from the City of Tamarac for career achievement and civic impact.

For more than a decade, Reed has also coached youth recreational basketball and continues to volunteer as a speaker and mentor for students.
Today, as a husband and father of three boys, he remains committed to building platforms that move culture — while leading with discipline, service, and legacy at the core.
